A vCard QR on a business card lets someone save your contact details with a single scan — no manual typing, no photograph of the card to search through later. The contact entry is created directly in the phone's address book as soon as the code is read.
What to include
A vCard QR can hold a name, job title, organization, phone number, email address, website, and mailing address. The more fields included, the denser the pattern — and a denser pattern needs more print space to scan reliably. For a standard business card, stick to the fields the recipient will actually use: name, phone, email, and website. Drop anything that would not appear on the card anyway.
Minimum print size
At business-card scale, a vCard QR needs at least 2 cm × 2 cm to scan reliably. If the card is dense with text, 2.5 cm is a safer floor. When downloading for print, choose the highest-quality option the generator offers — a vCard payload produces a moderately dense pattern that degrades visibly at small sizes if the image resolution is too low.
What to do when details change
A static QR code cannot be edited after it is generated. If a phone number or email address changes, the card needs to be reprinted with a new code. One way to extend the code's life: encode a personal website URL instead of a full vCard, and keep contact details up to date on that page.
